Vodafone Business Services to connect 26 thousand NRHM workers in Punjab, Haryana & NCR

Mumbai, July 7, 2015: Vodafone Business Services, the enterprise arm of Vodafone India, today announced its partnership with the Haryana Government for the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) project. As part of the project, Vodafone has been awarded the mandate to provide end to end solutions to manage NRHM’s day-to-day operations.

The overall project comprises 26 thousand mobile voice connections to provide connectivity to NRHM Accredited social health activists (ASHAs) and Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANM) workers across Haryana, NCR and Punjab. Apart from mobility voice, Vodafone Business Service will also provide mobility internet to over 2000 users. It has also been entrusted with the task of developing an application for 300 tablets for on ground data reporting via supervisory staff. In addition to this, VBS will also develop & implement USSD tracking and reporting application for 26 thousand employees and extend M-Pesa services for salary and incentive payouts.

Winning this government mandate is a significant milestone in Vodafone Business Services’ government offerings. This mandate has a significant mobility voice element and has mobile internet connectivity and app development as its other components. Earlier this year, Vodafone had successfully executed mobile-based disbursement of wages to NREGA workers through its mobile money transfer and payment service ‘M-Pesa’ in the state of XXX.
